A FEW SIMPLE STEPS

How to use the audio extractor

  3. 03

MP3, M4A, WAV or FLAC

MP3 uses high-quality local encoding. M4A preserves original AAC audio when available. WAV and FLAC avoid further lossy compression but cannot recover missing detail.

Silent videos stay silent

If the input has no audio track, there is no sound to extract. The tool reports that condition rather than creating an empty file.

What is the difference between M4A and AAC?

Both options can contain AAC audio. M4A wraps it in an MP4-family container; the AAC option uses an ADTS stream. MP3 is the default for broad compatibility. Lossless exports cannot restore detail already lost.
